Returning Substitutes & Term Teachers
Returning substitute and term teachers employed by the Halifax Regional School Board in the previous school year must confirm their intent to return to active substituting by completing the online Substitute Confirmation Form accessible via myHRSB (on the myHRSB dropdown menu, select Document Depot and you will find the Confirmation Form under Human Resource Services/Substitute Teaching Forms).
After completion of the Confirmation Form you will be able to log in within 5 business days. During peak periods (i.e. August - October) the turn around time may be longer. Once you have been activated we will email your login information including your ID and PIN number. You will then be able to personalize your AESOP account by selecting your preferred schools and managing your call times and availability.

Break in Employment
Any break in employment (other than June 30 to December 31) requires the completion of a new Criminal Records Check and a Child Abuse Form. These documents must be submitted before activation.
- Current Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check- available from your local Police or RCMP detachment or online at www.mybackcheck.com (please share your results with the Halifax Regional School Board). Must be issued within the past three months.
- Completed Child Abuse Registry - Request for Search Form - included in an orientation package from the Human Resource Services Department (a copy of your Driver's License or Health Card must accompany this form).
