Student Transportation

  • Bus Schedules are available here.

Each link is the bus schedule for all regular bus routes that travel to and from that school.

Students are requested to be at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to the listed time to ensure readiness for boarding the bus. It is also suggested that parents/guardians who will meet their children at the p.m. bus stop be there 5 minutes prior to the listed time.

Important Information About Busing Eligibility

As per the HRSB Student Transportation Policy:

  • Students are assigned by Stock Transportation to routes based on their home address. Students in Grades P-6 qualify for transportation if they live 2.4 km (or further) away from school. Students in Grades 7-12 qualify for busing if they live 3.6 km (or further) away from the school.

  • Eligibility for busing is determined from the student’s home property line to the school property line.

  • Courtesy seats may be allotted when there is space on the bus, after all eligible students are assigned. Routes are not altered for the purpose of providing courtesy transportation.

  • Students may use any existing stop on their assigned route (other than their designated stop).

  • If a student wishes to use an alternate route, that would be considered a courtesy. A seat on an alternate route would be dependent on available space, which won't be determined until ridership is established in mid to late September.

  • Requests from parents/guardians for courtesy busing must be submitted to Stock Transportation. If approved, these students will be considered courtesy riders.

  • It is recommended that parents/guardians contact Stock Transportation annually to determine if there is a courtesy seat available for their child and to register them as such.  Availability of space varies from year to year and could be discontinued at any time.

Stock Bus Tracker

Do you want to follow your child's bus in near-real time? Stock Transportation has developed a mobile app called the Stock Bus Tracker, which tracks HRSB school buses.

If you set up the Stock Bus Tracker in the 2016-17 school year, you do not have to set it up again.

Download a brochure that explains step-by-step how to use the Stock Bus Tracker app; or

Follow these step-by-step directions to download and use the Stock Bus Tracker app:

Stock Bus Tracker Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who can use the Stock Bus Tracker?

A: Students who are eligible for busing and parents/guardians of any student who is eligible for busing.

Q: Does the Stock Bus Tracker track my child’s whereabouts?

A: No. The Stock Bus Tracker only tracks buses, not the individuals who ride them.

Q: Does the Stock Bus Tracker track special needs buses?

A: Yes.

Q: Does the Stock Bus Tracker track bus routes of students who receive courtesy busing?

A: No.

Q: What does near-real time mean?

A: It’s nearly real time. Location data is refreshed every 15 seconds.

Q: Why does the app ask me for a Student ID number, but instead I have to create one consisting of my child’s last name and last four digits of their Provincial Student ID? Why not just use the Provincial Student ID?

A: The Stock Bus Tracker is available for use in 50 districts in the US. We are the only Canadian jurisdiction to have the app. We had to create a unique identifier to use the app in Canada. See images above for directions on how to log in.

Q: What if my child uses a bus route other than their home stop (i.e. daycare, sitter, etc)?

A: To ensure Stock Transportation has the correct busing information, it is critical that the child’s school has the information in the right spot in PowerSchool. This information must be updated in the Alternate Busing Information section in PowerSchool, by the child’s school.
It may take a few days for the updated information to show up in the app, as Stock doesn’t pull new data on a daily basis.

Q: Is it possible to have different stops for different days of the week in the app (i.e., stop at the sitter’s on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then stop at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays)?

A: No. You can only have one pick up and drop off, 5 days a week.

Q: Who do I call for support?

A: Call school if:
  • you don’t know your child’s Student ID
  • you need to update your child’s alternate busing information in PowerSchool
Call Stock Transportation at 902.481.8400 if:
  • you need support with the Stock Bus Tracker app
  • you have bus routing questions
